Biography
I was born in the Dominican Republic a long time ago, and when I was 3 years old, my parents decided to bring the entire family to the U.S. They were already here doing the necessary paper work to accomplish their goals.

My Family

| I remember my father always telling the story of how a brother from the congregation, an elder, helped him with a big problem he had. His name is Antonio Fernandez, from old East Side Congregation. We used to call it in Spanish: “El Salon de la 120” en el "Barrio". “The Hall of 120” was situated on 120 Street on the East, Spanish Harlem. |

Then, after a ferw years there, we moved to the West Side. My father was only a bible student at the time, and Brother Fernandez, one day noticed that my father was sad so he approached him and asked him what was the matter.
My father explains to him that after filling out all the required forms and documents requested by the authorities, he was required to have in the bank account US$10.000. That's a lot of money back in the days! And it still is today! But to my fathers' dismay, Brother Fernandez had it and offered it to him. And this, without Fernandez really knowing my father and without my father being a Jehovah's Witness at the time.
This made an everlasting impression on my father. He knew that that kind of love and kindness can only be true in Jehovah's Organization. He and my mother were even more determined than ever to learn more about Jehovah.
I grew up in the truth . And even when I was like around 11 or 12 years old, my father would still show his gratitude towards Brother Fernandez and his family, by picking up their clothes, clean and press them for free in the Dry Cleaners where he used to work, and delivered it to him in person. He didn't have to constantly do all that, but that was his way of showing his appreciation. They also got together on occasions and played dominoes and talked. My father was a talker! By the way, I was baptized at the age of 16. |
